The Challenge of this Blog

Providing accurate information about African-American businesses and investors is a challenge for several reasons.  Although Forbes magazine occasionally publishes a list of the richest African-Americans, and though a few Africans and African-Americans turn up on Forbes' annual list of billionaires, it is difficult to obtain reliable information from publicly available sources. Although hedge funds periodically disclose information in quarterly SEC filings, the number of African-American run hedge funds is small, and I am unaware of any that have holdings large enough to appear on the SEC's database.

Consequently, my comments will center on African-American investors, businesses, and celebrities in the news.  Many of them are popping up on podcasts as well to discuss their paths to success.
